Hello Everyone! A few weeks ago, Mr.M announced that we would be receiving email's from our Pen Pals from a media class in a school in California called, Castaic Middle School. My pen pal is in 8th grade and is really nice. We email each other often. I really like having pen pals, I always have but having a pen pal in a media class is cool because you can relate to each other easier. I wonder how many of you guys got your pen pals yet?! I know some people didn't get their pen pals, and others who did. I hope you all get your pen pals soon. Well, anyways Byee!!

Hey guies! So report Cards or progress reports got out today!! I was pretty
excited but nervous at the same time. I was really worried about my media and science grade. But I was really worried for nothing because when I was given my report card, I had got all A's! I was really happy and excited. Moving on to a new quarter...we started our 2nd Quarter Projects! My partner, Lilly and I are doing another news feature story on "Bathroom Fees in Kilauea". A restaurant named, "Lighthouse Bistro" in Kong Lung Market is charging people to use the bathrooms. This was because non-customers had been just using the bathroom-and not buying anything. So, them owner of the market and the owner of the store had came up with a price-$10 for non-customers, $8 for a person with a recipt from another shop in the market, and Free for customers. So far we have been researching and just calling people. Well, Byee!! In class, we
have been providing feedback to our classmates on their 1st Quarter Project. As we looked at the videos, with the help from our partner and our group, we picked the best one that would match on the criteria sheets. We also had to provide our opinions and thoughts. It is important to be honest. It is not meant to get your feelings hurt. I thought it was really helpful, although we didn't evaluate our video. So the topic for this weekly blog is on how feedback is important. Feedback is a person's suggestion or reaction to help you improve on your work. Or it could be how someone feels toward it. It helps you get better by using the feedback from a person or a teacher and taking it to fix a mistake you have made. Feedback is important because it helps you learn from your mistakes. It also makes you pay attention to your work...and do it with quality the first time. When giving feedback to another person or group, it is important to be honest. Just because it's your friend your evaluating, doesn't mean it's right to give them a really high or good score. However, that doesn't mean you need to be very harsh or mean. Same goes the other way around- if it's someone who gave you a bad score or someone you genuinely don't like. It's important to be honest and true when giving feedback. Feedback is helpful in anything-everything. For example, in my English class my teacher, Mrs.Souza always gives me feedback in little comments or notes. Another example is in my Kajikembo class. The instructor provides feedback to help us advance in learning and fix our mistakes. Feedback is an important thing in life. It helps us avoid mistakes in the future and learn from them. But it is important to be honest. Well anyways Byee!! 😊 This week's assigned blog topic is about my future after high school. There
will only be 1 blog this week. Honestly, I really don't know what kind of job I would like to have or what I'd like to take up in college-or what kind of college I'd go to. After a lot of thinking, here's my 3 things I'd like to do after i finish high school. I'd like to be a robotic engineer or a mechanical engineer. The reason why is because I always wanted to be an engineer and I love robotics. The thing that inspired me was that my moms boss was diagnosed with cancer D:. That's when mechanical engineering came into hand. They created robots that were programmed to see what's happening inside his body. I would go to Cal poly tech, San Luis Obispo in California. There, I would take up mechanical engineering or computer science. Cal Poly tech San Luis obispo is a good technology and engineering college. They also have a robotics club and laboratory which is a plus. One thing I'd like to do after I graduate high school or even college is to travel to a place I have never been before. I've always liked to travel, so traveling by myself will be fun and interesting. Growing up, the teacher or your parents always asks you "what do you want to be when you grow up?". But I never actually took it seriously or thought hard about it. The life after high school will be a big step and a big change. It will be challenging but interesting. Although I say what I want to be or where I would like to go, it could always change. But for now, this is the end of my blog. Byee!! 😊 Hello! It's Alaysia back with another blog. In this blog I will be telling
you about the iOS 7. Well, in this new update, apple designed a whole new layout interface, you could say. They changed the icon pictures for the mandatory apps. They also changed the design of the app and the iDevice it's self. The home screen is still the same, however, there is a pop-up settings, called "Control Center" which you can access anytime on your mobile apple product. It allows you to switch from airplane mode to wifi, alter your brightness; and it includes a camera, calculator, flashlight, the "Do Not Disturb", music and many more. Instead of going to your settings to do so, you can activate "Control Center" by swiping up from the bottom portion of your Device. Speaking of the camera, apple also changed that up too. The camera app allows the photographer to choose from 4 kinds of shooting; video and photo as you all are farmiliar with, and they added pano (for panoramas) and square, (for all you instagrammers). And even MORE goodies pertaining to the camera app, apple added "Instagram-Style" filters for those cool, funky, retro effects. With these new features and effects of the camera, we can use them to do future Advisory games, to make the shots look cool and neat. Corasponding to the Camera is the Photos. It automatically organizes your photos into "collections", which are sorted by date AND Location! Some minor details have been changed, like the Search Bar. Instead of the swipe all the way to the left kind of thing, Apple decided to make it convenient, so they made it so you just swipe down from the bottom of the screen. Just a few more things guies! One thing is the itunes Radio, which features stations chosen by you. Another thing that I thought was Awesome was the Automatic App Updating. All the iOS apps will be automatically updated to the newest version. Although, If you prefer to update them manually, you can disable this feature. I personally think this is good because keeping iOS apps up to date are fairly annoying and tedious. Although this is not the last feature, or the most interesting, I thought I would just squeeze this in. Apple added in some cool Wallpapers. I actually changed my lock screen wallpaper to one of the backrounds Apple made, because it looked neat, and it also moves when you would tilt or move the iPad a certain way. Isn't that cool?! Or is it just me? I'm a bit weird like that....Oh well. That's basically MY overview of the iOS 7. Well....this is the end I guesh. Byee! Have you ever been left waiting and not knowing how long you'll be there? How
did it make you feel? Well, this week's assigned blog topic is on Punctuality- whether or not being on time is important. To begin with, I do think that being on time is EXTREMELY important, whether it's a project, or just everyday life (Doctor or Dentist Appointments, School, Work, meetings, flights, etc.). Being punctual shows that you respect other peoples time. Once that time is lost, you can not get it back. Time is one of few things which can not be bought. Being punctual is a reflection on ones character; how one views you as a person. It shows responsibility. Being punctual allows us to have the most effective use of our time, because when your punctual, your prepared, organized, and calm. In this blog, I will be telling you about why being punctual is an important trait to have. The first reason being punctual is an important trait to have is because it shows responsibility. When you are punctual, you get things done, and you avoid procrastination and having to stress out. I think this is because you are more organized and prepared. The second reason being punctual is important is because it shows respect for yourself and others. If you are on time to an event or meeting, it shows you respect the other person's time and schedule. However, if your late, it shows that your lazy, not responsible, and that you don't respect the other person's time. Being punctual allows the stress off of you and the other person to go away. The final reason to explain why being punctual is important is because it shows your true character, the real person you are on the inside, when no one is watching. As you just read in the paragraph above this one, if you don't respect other peoples time, you end up showing and proving that you are a lazy, not responsible person. In Conclusion, Being a punctual person is important, it helps to be organized and responsible. One person I consider punctual is Mr. M. He starts the meeting at the exact time he says the meeting will be held at and same goes for everything else in the class. I should really start trying to be punctual, because I often procrastinate and end up stressing out towards the end of the deadline. Well....that's it for this blog I guesh. Byee! |
