Hey Everyone! So for this weeks' constructed response, I will be telling you the best and the worst times I experienced on this years STN trip to Florida. Meaning, I will tell you the three best things that stood out and some things I didn't like on the trip. So the three best things that happened on the trip was the Full Sail University, Disney's Hollywood Studios, and the STN closing ceremony. The only thing I didn't like, was that the schedule was so tightly packed that we didn't get enough sleep.
So the first thing I liked the most that I will be sharing with you is the Full Sail University tour. And if you want, you can read about the Full Sail University Tour in my blog, "Day Three: Live in 5..4..3..2.." The tour was great! I loved it! It was actually my very first time visiting a university, so it was cool getting to see their campus! Most of us, being in a Media Productions class, are probably interested in Arts and Communications when we grow up, so it's really cool getting to actually visit a school based on media. Another reason I liked the tour because it was inspiring. It was pretty cool how they have their own "Hall of Fame" building and we actually got to go in it. I mean, I think it's really cool how the graduates leave memorables behind, I saw an oscar, many medals, and even a script from Jaws! Being that we are all media students, a lot of us are planning to go into the media field when you grow up, so seeing all these awards, all these movies and certificates, I'd assume that you're thinking, "I want to win one of those one day." Especially how our Tour Guide, Victorica, talked about how the graduates get called up onto the stage and they have a whole ceremony about it. Another reason why I liked the tour was because it was very exciting and interesting. Despite having the best tour guide, the whole thing was great! I guess I was just really excited. Their campus is huge and it's really neat how they have a backlot full of fake sets for their students to film on! Overall, I thought the tour was amazing and if the CKTV class ever goes back to Flordia (in like 3 years?) you should go back here.
The next thing I liked the most about the trip is going to Disney's Hollywood Studios and if you want to read about it, you can read about it in my blog, "Day Five: The Fun In Science". Disney's Hollywood Studios was fun! It was something that you could go to and learn something new and still have fun, an educational theme park. We got a tour and by the name of my other blog, "The Fun In Science", the tour basically revolved around science in parks like Disney's Hollywood Studios. We got a tour there, and the tour was about how science comes into play in their theme parks, the role science plays on roller coasters with kinetic and potential energy, mass, velocity, force, etc. It was pretty coincidental, because prior, we were just learning about kinetic and potential energy and rollercoasters in Science. I liked Disney's Hollywood studios because you could have fun, and yet still learn. And the teachings helped in science class later.
And the last best thing I liked about the trip was the STN 2k14 Closing Ceremony! And you can read more about the closing ceremony where I talk about it in my blog, "And the Winner Is..." Yes this was straight off the top, one of my most favorite parts of the trip. I just loved it! It was really fun, with loud music, flashing lights, and a mixture of excited and worried faces. Even though Movie Trailer team didn't place, it was still a really good experience! We were good sports and appreciated the awards we did win. But the best part about it was getting to sit with all the Hawaii schools. All the schools from Hawaii sat in the far left corner, and each of us wore our own STN state shirt. It was pretty neat. The Hawaii schools cheered solid and chanted "HA-WA-II" even louder. I think it's safe to say that we represented the state well. It was also pretty funny because the Hawaii schools kept winning awards in a row. I'm really proud to say that I'm from CKTV and we come from Hawaii.
But the only downside of the trip is that we didn't get much sleep because of the so right schedule. We would go to sleep at like 12 and then have to wake up at like 3 in the morning to go to the airport. But pretty much the whole trip had a messy sleeping schedule. Most days we would arrive home late, and go to sleep around 11 or 12 then we would have to get up early again at 5 or 6. It just makes you tired through out the day, and trying to catch up on your sleep during the car rides but I remember one day we were at like this Disney's Hollywood Studios or something and all of us were dead zombies dying to keep our eyes open (pun). It's just I hope that in future trips maybe we can fit a bit more sleep time in there because no one likes to be tired during a fun trip.
In conclusion, this trip was amazing! I especially loved the Full Sail University tour, going to Disney's Hollywood Studio's, and the Closing Ceremony of the 2014 STN convention. But the only down side about the trip, is that there was so many things going on that we didn't get enough sleep for the next fun thrilling day. That's it for my constructed response! Thanks for reading, Byee!!
